Prof. Thomas Paul
Prof. Thomas Paul (1956) is one of the founders of paul und collegen consulting and directs the German branch in Berlin. His primary expertise lies in reorganisation, restructuring and transformations. He has held roles at board level as an interim manager for the past 20 years, most often as CRO (Chief Restructuring Officer). From time to time, he takes over project management for consulting projects with a particular focus on the link between the concept and its implementation.
He has conducted several national and international distressed M&A transactions over the years by taking on management roles. His practical experience covers a wide range of industries and company sizes. Clients value his engagement as a certified business mediator and his advice as a coach. He has worked in higher education for over ten years (specialising in Corporate Restructuring, Controlling) and was appointed as an honorary professor in 2016.

Dr. Michael Paul, CVA, MRICS
Dr Michael Paul (1968) is a founder and managing director of paul und collegen consulting. His focus lies in consulting on the topics of change, reorganisation and restructuring for companies and M&As. He is a certified valuation analyst for business and brand valuation according to EACVA standards and, since 2016, a sworn and court-certified expert in business valuation and business planning. As an expert in the real estate industry, he is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Dr Paul has written numerous articles for professional journals and published several specialist books.
Before founding paul und collegen, Dr Paul was a partner at an international business advisory firm in charge of the Vienna office.

Matthias Busch
Graduate economist Matthias Busch (1966) is a business economist specialising in corporate governance, controlling, reporting and systems. His projects primarily focus on crisis management, restructuring, M&As, business development and transformation.
He has advised companies from the real estate and construction, services, trade and manufacturing sectors for over twenty years. Every now and again he steps into an interim board role as CFO or the like.
His clients and colleagues value his professional expertise, his swift, solution-based and pragmatic approach as well as his entrepreneurial outside-the-box mindset.

Simone Paul
Simone Paul (1968) manages our German projects at the Berlin office, where she provides organisational support to colleagues working on projects. She is our go-to for contract management and business administration. She is also responsible for our social media activities.

Max Petershagen
Max Petershagen ist Junior Consultant bei paul und collegen im Wiener Büro. Er unterstützt das Team in der Planung und Durchführung von Projekten sowie in Recherche und Datenanalyse.
Bereits vor seiner Tätigkeit bei paul und collegen sammelte er Erfahrung in unterschiedlichen Umfeldern, von internationalen Konzernen über mittelständische Familienunternehmen bis hin zu politischen NGOs. Tätig war er dabei vor allem in Kommunikation, Projektkoordination und Datenanalyse.
Seinen Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) absolvierte er an der Central European University in Wien. Derzeit studiert er Economics im Master an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien.
